The Department of Education is celebrating the Teachers' Month Campaign this September and will celebrate the Word Teachers' Day on October 5, 2012. One of the goals of the campaign is to highlight the unique roles of teachers and the service and commitment they pursue to guide Filipino families, strengthen communities and to build our nation.
As part of this, DepEd organized a poster-making contest which was participated by elementary pupils all around the Philippines encompassing the theme of "My Teacher, My Hero." It encourages elementary pupils to creatively express how much they honor and value their teacher. This also aims to give recognition to the contributions of the teachers in the development of the students and their profound influence to the society as the front-liners of education and learning.
This year, many talented students once again showcased their talents and skills in visual arts by participating on this year's National Teachers' Month and World Teachers' day Poster-Making contest. About 121 elementary students submitted their artworks and their entries are now available on Teachers' Month Campaign and World Teachers' Day Facebook Fanpage. You can also vote for your favorite artwork.
Last year, I also shared my three favorite entries. This year, here are my personal favorite among the 121 entries:
