Aliwan Festival is an annual event and recognized to be the gatherings of different cultural festivals in the whole Philippines. The festival this year was held last April 2012. From Luneta Grandstand in Manila, the contingents compete and showed their bests in dance and float parade. This event is known to be the "The Mother of All Fiestas" that aims to show off the different Filipino cultures and heritage to the world. The participants also aim to promote their regions both economically and tourism-wise. Aliwan is a Tagalog word for "entertainment" or "amusement." This event became one of the highlights every summer. Showing to the world how colorful, vibrant and happy the Filipinos are, Aliwan is a good example to show that It Is More Fun In The Philippines. This year’s competition had a lot of surprises, with the participants becoming more creative and innovative, the competition is becoming tougher and tougher. Each region prepared well with their costumes, music, props and the presentation. But only one among the groups had showcased the best performance and it came from the Dinagyang Festival of Iloilo City. Wonderful post. It's so nice looking at the photos , the people were really enjoying the event and I think the parade was done with so much fun. Thank you for sharing.
