Panagbenga is a Kankanaey word that means "blossoming of flowers,"  because it is during the month of February that the flowers from Benguet are in their season of Blooming . Aside from the colorful Street Dancing Parade, the highly-anticipated part during the Panagbenga Festival is Grand Flower Float Parade which is one of the highlights of Baguio's annual flower festival. Thousands of local and foreign visitors enjoyed witnessing beautiful floats made up of millions of vibrant flowers.

The parade of flower floats were accompanied by street dancers and marching bands heralding the floats as it travels the Session Road jam-packed with people at the side of the street. Each float took their own theme. One of the most amazing floats was the giant red and yellow floral dragon. Other themes used in the parade were Angry Birds, Star Wars and local places in the Philippines like Taal Volcano.

Panagbenga is a venture of artistry as it showcase the colorful creation of the people of Baguio.  Millions of flowers and were creatively arranged to show the meaning of art. Artists wholeheartedly render time and effort in keeping the vibrancy of the tradition. The festival promotes cultural development as well to the city.
