Panagbenga Festival is an annual event held during the month of February in Baguio City, Philippines. With over millions of people all over the country participating the celebration of the season of blooming, Panagbenga Festival became one of the most anticipated events in the Philippines.

Aside from the Grand Float Parade, one of the highlights  of Panagbenga Festival 2012  is the Grand Street Dancing Parade which was held on the 25th of February. Participated by different schools in Baguio City, it became a good venue in  showcasing the talents of young people through dancing, music and artistry. Participants exhibited colorful costumes and props that was truly amazing.

The presentations were tagged to nature. The participants showcased stories about the traditions of Cordilleras: performing different forms of dances, music and cultures in dedication to the environment. The grand street dancing parade was also a contest as the best street dancing parade performers received cash prices.

I went to Baguio July last year and I really wish to come back some time in the future. I think I am going to go back there right in time of the Panagbenga Festival which I really consider to be the most beautiful one. :D

OMG....the G-string! Hehehe! I went to Baguio to attend a conference last 2008 and I was really scandalized with the G-string. Hahahaha! Nakakahiya lang for me to gawk at their butts! Heheheh! I haven't been to Panagbenga Festival, though.

Even if I had to wait a while for all pictures to fully load, it is still worth it. What a truly mind-blowing festival! No wonder why thousands of people both local and tourists flock together to witness it themselves.

This is rivaling Pahiyas as the most colorful fest in the country! I've only attended it once, and that was more than a decade ago. Your photos made me wanna see it again...I hope next year. :)

Panagbenga is a real cultural immersion!
What's more.. that the people of cordillera are rich in cultural heritage is an understatement.
You photos are very colorful, full of life! :)

This reminds me of the Kaamulan Festival at Bukidnon, I grew up there and witness this kind of festivals... Not similar to what's here in Cebu. :) Great shots by the way... what camera are you using?
