TARIMA Group Exhibit at Altro Mondo Gallery

AltroMondo Gallery sets a stage to Filipino figurative artists to showcase their talents in visual arts. Last July 26th, the gallery unveiled TARIMA, a group exhibit featuring 14 contemporary artists including Xander Calceta, Keb Cerda, Jesus Genotiva, Caloy Gernale, Nino Hernandez, Joselito Jandayan, Ronald Jeresano, John Marin, Arden Mopera, Teody Racuya, Rem San Pedro, Chriseo Ripat, Valen Valero and Erick Villarruz.

TARIMA is a word that means "stage" and alternatively "territory." Shedding the common tendency to use arbitrary elements for compositional and decorative purposes, the artists focus on how they can set up the stage for the stories that lie beneath everyday experience.  

After attending to the opening show of John Jaylo's exhibit, DUO at Ayala Museum, I went to a nearby gallery located at Greenbelt 5, Makati. Altro Mondo is such a nice place to find great artworks of Filipino artists. Luckily, a group exhibit TARIMA is still on going when I checked the place.

Altro Mondo established an artspace in promoting emerging contemporary artists in the country. It become the cross road of various art niches but keeps the quality of its exhibitions. Altro mondo aims to enliven art-making and promote its place in, and influence on, society.
