I was invited to attend the Blog TAYO event, a get together of bloggers and other media partners for the National Youth Commission’s upcoming search for the Ten Accomplished Youth Organization (TAYO) 2012 last July 6, 2012 at Café Dominic, Biak na Bato, Quezon City. TAYO is an yearly search to acknowledges the outstanding contributions of youth and youth serving organizations all over the country. TAYO Awards Foundation, Inc. begins in the year 2002 and has established itself as the award giving body that honors organizations with the contribution of youth to their communities. To date, more than a thousand organizations that have played a part in the development of their local communities, schools and work place have joined this prestigious contest.
The TAYO Awards Foundation, Inc. is encouraging youth organizations to be the catalysts of change and partners in nation-building. TAYO Foundation believes that the Philippines and its youth are destined for a brighter tomorrow. The Foundation has been searching for, and recognizing, youth organizations engaged in changing the lives of its members and the community.
The TAYO Awards Foundation, Inc. is now accepting entries from interested youth groups, organizations, clubs and societies for this year’s TAYO 10 awards nationwide in line with the 10th year anniversary of the foundation with the theme, “TAYO [R]EVOLUTION: Isang Dekada ng Pagbabago.”
WHO CAN JOIN
The search is open to any organization with at least 15 youth members with ages 15-30 years old with an innovative, exemplary, or inspiring project, continuing or completed in 2012.

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
The winning 10 youth organizations will receive cash grants of P50,000 each intended to fund projects.
Qualified organizations will compete in the Area Finals of their respective regions (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao and NCR) for a chance to win cash grants and special prizes at the National Finals.
CRITERIA FOR JUDGING
The entries will be judged based on the following criteria:
TAYO 10 is presented by the Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, Inc., and organized by the National Youth Commission alongside the Office of Senator Kiko Pangilinan. Also supporting the search include the Philippine Council of Young Political Leaders, Department of Social Welfare and Development, Lenovo Philippines, Jollibee, and Cebu Pacific.
